Bessie the test mule
At fire-gear, I'm serious about finding out what works best for firedancing. I've constructed a simple testing apparatus I call Bessie, and this allows me to compare burn times for different kevlar weaves, different wick designs, etc, where all the wicks are in an identical environment. Plus it looks cool when it's going.
In the photos below, I am testing out four different tube-core wicks, all made using different varieties of kevlar wicking material.
